Dear Neighbor, Every day, thousands of families, workers, and seniors in Northeast Philadelphia depend on SEPTA to get to work, school, doctor’s appointments, and more. That’s why the ongoing fight over transit funding in Harrisburg matters so much to our community. Here’s the truth: without action, SEPTA faces painful service cuts. I refuse to let that happen. That’s why I’ve been working across the aisle to advance a funding plan that keeps trains and buses running without raising income or sales taxes. Our proposal responsibly draws from existing state transportation funds — money that’s currently sitting idle — to keep service running for the next two years while we hammer out a long-term solution. Just as important, it includes the strongest accountability and safety measures in SEPTA’s history, including:
I know there’s been noise and politics in Harrisburg, but here’s my bottom line: I’m fighting to deliver safe, reliable public transit for Northeast Philadelphia.
