Picozzi Sworn into Office Representing Northeast Philadelphia in State Senate

HARRISBURG – State Sen. Joe Picozzi (R-5) was sworn into office today to represent Northeast Philadelphia in the Pennsylvania Senate.

 

Elected by voters in November, Picozzi, 29, is the youngest state senator in Pennsylvania and the first Republican elected to represent Philadelphia in the state Senate since 1996.  

 

Among Picozzi’s legislative priorities are strengthening public safety, enhancing the quality of life in neighborhoods and improving public education.

 

“I am profoundly honored to have been chosen by my neighbors to represent them in the state Senate,” Picozzi said. “I will work every day to deliver more resources for our first responders, improve quality of life and restore and secure our home. I am excited to fight with you for a brighter future for Northeast Philadelphia.”
