PHILADELPHIA — Policies to protect pedestrians, cyclists and motorists from aggressive drivers in Philadelphia will be examined at a Senate Majority Policy Committee public hearing Tuesday, April 7 at 10 a.m. at the Community College of Philadelphia Northeast Regional Center, 12901 Townsend Rd., Philadelphia.
Sen. Joe Picozzi (R-5) invited the committee, chaired by Sen. Dave Argall (R-29), to learn more from law enforcement and transportation safety officials about the dangers residents of Philadelphia face from reckless drivers and how road safety can be improved.
“Aggressive driving puts lives at risk,” Picozzi said. “We must explore meaningful solutions that support our law enforcement and make our streets safer for everyone.”
“I’d like to thank Sen. Picozzi for bringing this important issue to the committee’s attention,” Argall said. “I look forward to learning more about how we can improve road safety in urban communities across the commonwealth.”
Picozzi serves as the vice chair of the committee, directing majority caucus research efforts and assisting with scheduling and planning public hearings on issues confronting Pennsylvanians. The hearing will be livestreamed on the committee’s website.
