HARRISBURG – Today, House Bill 274 passed the General Assembly and now heads to the Governor’s desk, securing unemployment compensation benefits for Pennsylvanians and preventing cuts in the new year.
Senator Picozzi supported Chairman Devlin Robinson in working with key business and labor leaders to achieve a deal acceptable to all parties on a critical timeline.
“This was about making sure working Pennsylvanians didn’t lose critical benefits” said Picozzi. “I am relieved and grateful to see both sides of the aisle come together to get this done”.
House Bill 274 protects unemployment benefits for thousands of Pennsylvania workers who rely on the program and strengthens the integrity of the system by closing loopholes and clarifying job search requirements.
Senator Picozzi thanks Senator Devlin Robinson (R-37) for his leadership and collaboration, stating that the deal only happened because everyone stayed at the table.
The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk.
